Mercantile Library Company (Philadelphia)

The Mercantile Library Company of Philadelphia was established in 1821.〔(Catalogue of the Mercantile Library Company of Philadelphia ). 1850〕〔John Thomas Scharf, Thompson Westcott. History of Philadelphia, 1609-1884, v.2. 1884.〕 Staff included John Edmands.
In 1989, the Free Library of Philadelphia absorbed the collections of the Mercantile Library.
